In January 2025, the unique immersive promotional event “Butterfly Trail” kicked off in two Greek cities ( Athens and Thessaloniki ). Organized by Pixel Artworks, the initiative was a major success. Polidomes International served as the main technological partner, successfully delivering and installing the P110 Pixel event dome and fully realizing the event space.
Fulldome Atheny
Preparatory work began in late December. Polidomes carried out the intricate full branding of the entire dome surface, creating a unique and fully personalized design that seamlessly integrated into the architecture of Athens. The final result amazed passersby and event participants – the dome looked stunning, attracting attention with its form and graphic detail.
As part of the project, modern audiovisual equipment was provided, ensuring a complete fulldome projection, along with professional AV technician support to ensure the smooth running of the shows.
This event served as a perfect example of utilizing modern technologies, immersive experiences, and next-generation promotional tools. Thanks to this project, “Butterfly Trail” gained a spectacular visual and media presentation, and the brand was showcased in a unique, memorable way.
Fulldome Thessaloniki
After the “butterfly trail” event in Athens, it was time to continue the project and visit Thessaloniki. There, we built a twin, fully branded fulldome for this wonderful event. Thanks to our 360-degree spherical projections, the educational experience was taken to the next level of immersion! The architecture of the geodesic structures provides a robust structure that is resistant to weather changes and blends in perfectly with the rest of the environment.
The visitor journey begins within this impressive immersive fulldome, a digital ‘botanical garden’ that introduces guests to a world of 360-degree immersive projections.
Inside, visitors actively interact with the experience via their smartphones. By scanning a QR code, they download an Augmented Reality (AR) application that allows them to “feed” digital pupae using virtual nectar vials. This process magically transforms the pupae into vibrant butterflies, which then digitally soar around them, creating a truly hypnotic visual scene within the dome.
The experience culminates at the end of the trail, where guests can capture a commemorative photo in a specially designed photo zone, surrounded by these dynamic butterflies—a unique blend of cutting-edge technology and imaginative storytelling.
