The Gandhi’s museum expands with new 360 degree projection dome.
Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra is an interactive experience centre built to promote ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’, based in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the centre on August 8 and said that it is a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s efforts towards cleanliness.
The RSK has a balanced mix of digital and outdoor installations tracking India’s transformation. The Prime Minister toured the Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra and watched a short video on ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ at the Kendra’s 360 degree projection dome screen. The video captured the incredible 5-year journey of the Swachh Bharat Mission and captured the challenges of a time period when people struggled due to no access to toilets.
Gandhi’s museum expanded an exhibition with an additional showroom with special effects and state-of-the-art technology provided by Polidomes. The 360 degree projection dome is called to display milestones of SBM year-wise by the click of a button.
This unique audio-visual 360 degree show is created with a custom Polidome 40 projection tent equipped with the special negative pressure liner. Besides the custom size of the Polidomes structure, this project required a little extra something from our team. Black steel structure covered with black-and-white cover and equipped with negative pressure projection liner.
The inner membrane, the so-called projection liner, is an innovative, unique system developed by Polidomes. It’s a perfect inside lining made of material that is used in cinemas. The projection liner is installed and fitted to a current dome with vacuum pumps.
Altogether, this geodesic structure with integrated AV solution is tilted on the pillars to allow the public to move freely in and out of the 360 degree projection showroom. No entrance is needed.
The Rashtriya Swachhata Kendra was first announced by the Prime Minister on April 10, 2017, as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, on the occasion of the centenary celebrations of Gandhiji’s Champaran ‘satyagraha’. As per a statement by the Press Information Bureau, the installations at the Kendra will introduce the future generations to the successful journey of the world’s largest behaviour change campaign, the Swachh Bharat Mission.
